The event was held in the beautiful grounds of Broughton Castle, Banbury, the home of Lord and Lady Saye and Sele and their family. Mrs Susan Burgess, President of the Club welcomed everyone and started over 100 walkers and even more Cavaliers off on the walk.

5 awards were presented for the most sponsorship money collected, and 2 awards for the oldest dog present on the day.  The raffle table was overflowing with prizes, all kindly donated.

During the afternoon Anita Godwin gave a Grooming Demonstration, and Rosemary Powell's 'Helping Hearts' stall did brisk business.

Many took the opportunity to visit the Castle, gatehouse, and the formal gardens, while some (no names mentioned) didn't get any further than the Tea Rooms, having found home-made cakes and scones !

Thanks go to all who helped to make the day so successful, but especially everyone who came along with their sponsorship to support our event.

We were delighted that the Cavalier KCS Club donated a large proportion of the money raised to an exciting  new research project into Mitral Valve Disease, which is being undertaken by Edinburgh University in conjunction with University College Galway.
